Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton partners with an energetic, patient-focused medical team which represents the most extensive experience in hospice and palliative care in southwestern Ohio. Our innovative physicians serve as collaborators and consultants to hundreds of other physicians serving patients in our area. In addition, they provide medical expertise that personally addresses the needs of hospice patients.
Physician Bios
Kevin Ahern, MD
Dr. Ahern serves as medical director of Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton. Before becoming the medical director, Dr. Ahern served at Ohio’s Community Mercy Hospice, where he led the care teams in Springfield and Urbana and followed hospital-based general inpatient patients at Springfield Regional Medical Center. He also was the physician for the Northeast Coming Home Team for Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton and the Springfield and Urbana teams. Dr. Ahern began his family practice residency in 1988 after graduating from The Ohio State University College of Medicine. In addition to his hospice certification, he is a Diplomate of the American Board of Family Medicine. His past roles include serving in emergency medicine and family practice. He also served as a hospitalist. He became the medical director of Community Mercy Hospice in 2013. When Community Mercy Hospice affiliated with Ohio’s Hospice in 2016, becoming Ohio’s Community Mercy Hospice, Dr. Ahern joined our organization. He also served as chief of staff at Springfield Regional Medical Center (2014-2017).
Susan Berner, MD
Dr. Berner earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Kentucky, and medical degree from the Wright State University School of Medicine. She completed a residency in family medicine at the Dayton Community Family Practice Residency in 2004. She also completed a fellowship in geriatric medicine at the University of Cincinnati in 2005. Dr. Berner is board certified in family medicine and hospice and palliative care. She has been a staff member at Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton since 2015.
Veronica Ines Camacho, MD
Dr. Camacho earned her medical degree from the Universidad Mayor de San Simon (UMSS) School of Medicine in Bolivia. She completed an internal medicine residency at the Kettering Medical Center in 2012 followed by a Hospice and Palliative Care Fellowship at Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine in 2013. Dr. Camacho is a member of the American College of Physicians. She has been a staff member at Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton since 2015.
Dr. Cleanne Cass, DO, FAAFP, FAAHPM, CAQ Geriatrics, Director of Community Care and Education
Dr. Cass is board certified in hospice and palliative medicine and is a fellow of the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine. She is also board certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians and holds a Certificate of Added Qualification in Geriatrics. Dr. Cass joined the staff of Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton in 2002 serving as administrative medical director. She is a member of the Board of the Ohio Pain Initiative, serves as a member of the American Osteopathic End of Life Committee and National Quality Forum Advisory Committee for Hospice and Palliative Care.
Richard Greeno, MD
Dr. Greeno earned his undergraduate degrees University of California, Davis, and Duke University. He earned his medical degree from East Tennessee State University in 1992. He completed his residency in emergency medicine at Wright State University in 1995. He transitioned over to hospice and palliative medicine in 2013. Dr. Greeno joined the Ohio’s Hospice organization in 2018. He is certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine. He also holds a certification in the Hospice and Palliative Medicine subspecialty from the American Board of Medical Specialties.
Ali Jaffery, MBBS
Dr. Jaffrey earned his medical degree at the Rawalpindi Medical College of Rawalpindi, Pakistan, in 2001. He completed his internal medicine residency at the Grand Rapids Medical Education and Research Center in 2007. In 2013 Dr. Jaffrey was selected for the Wright State University Hospice and Palliative Care Fellowship. He joined Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton in 2020.
Gretzel King, MD
Dr. King earned her undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of San Andres, Bolivia, and University of San Simón, Bolivia, respectively. Upon moving to the United States, Dr. King completed an internal medicine internship at Good Samaritan Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland, followed by an internal medicine residency at the Kettering Medical Center in Kettering, Ohio. Dr. King is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. She has served as a hospitalist at Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton since 2021.
Del T. Kirkpatrick, JD, MD
Dr. Kirkpatrick earned his MD from the University of California, San Fransisco, in 2001. He completed an anesthesia residency at the Mayo Clinic Hospitals in Rochester, Minnesota. He also completed a pediatric anesthesia fellowship at the Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, D.C., in 2008. Dr. Kirkpatrick completed a hospice and palliative care fellowship at Wright State University in 2019, and he joined Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton in 2022.
Timothy MacLean, DO, FACEP
Dr. MacLean has served as an associate medical director with Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton since 2011. He is board certified by the American Association of Hospice and Palliative Medicine and the American Board of Emergency Medicine. He is an associate professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine at the Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine. He has served as a staff physician with the Emergency and Trauma Center at Miami Valley Hospital since 1996. He is a graduate of the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine and served with the United States Air Force from 1983 to 1992.
Prasuna Madireddy, MBBS
Dr. Madireddy graduated from Guntur Medical College in Guntur, India. In 2003, she completed her internal medicine residency at Wright State University. Dr. Madireddy is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and has been a part of Ohio’s Hospice organization since 2013.
Amy Mestemaker, MD
Dr. Mestemaker is a graduate of the University of Dayton and The Ohio State University College of Medicine. She is board certified in internal medicine and hospice and palliative medicine. Prior to joining the Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton staff, she served as associate medical director of Ohio’s Hospice of Central Ohio.
Priyamvada Murali, MD
Dr. Murali earned her bachelor’s degree from Youngstown State University, and medical degree from the Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED) in 2014. She completed an internal medicine residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Dr. Murali is board certified and has been a physician with Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton since 2019.
Rana Patel, MD
Dr. Patel served as a staff physician in hospice and palliative care at Dayton Veteran’s Affairs Hospital before joining Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton. She earned her medical degree at Ross University and completed a residency at the Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine. She completed a fellowship with the Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine in hospice and palliative care in 2009.
Ronald Pohlman, MD
Dr. Pohlman earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Dayton and his medical degree from The Ohio State University College of Medicine in 1982. He completed an internship and residency in family practice at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Dayton, Ohio, in 1985. Dr. Pohlman holds a board certification in family practice and is a certified member of the Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine. He joined the Ohio’s Hospice organization in 1987.
Jinyun Wu, MD, MS
Dr. Wu earned her medical degree from Shanghai Medical University, and graduate degree from the University of Mississippi Medical Center in 1991. She completed an internal medicine residency at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Youngstown, Ohio. Dr. Wu is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. She has been a staff member of Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton since 2022.
Anna Zivkovich, MD
Dr. Zivkovich earned her undergraduate education from Denison University before receiving her medical degree from the West Virginia University School of Medicine in 2007. Dr. Zivkovich completed an internal medicine residency at the Kettering Medical Center in Kettering, Ohio. She is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. She has served as a hospitalist at Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton since 2011.
