Wagner Earns Systems Maintenance Administrators Designation
Congratulations to Mark Wagner, Manager of Facilities at Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton, who recently earned the Systems Maintenance Administrators designation (SMA) from Building Owners and Managers Institute International (BOMI). The designation reflects knowledge and expertise in:
Energy Savings. Mark applied this knowledge toward the renewable solar energy program and LED lighting retrofit, helping to save the organization thousands of dollars that help sustain the hospice mission.
Building. Mark’s familiarity with design, materials, codes, structural systems, and finishes, is applied to maintenance procedures, practices and preventive maintenance, and to facility improvements. His project to redesign parking and lighting for the new main entrance road and upper parking lot on campus improved safety and enhanced campus appearance.
Risk Reduction and Government Regulations. Mark has been instrumental in updating Life Safety Codes and systems to meet CMS and Joint Commission requirements, as well as maintaining annual hazardous chemical filings and compliance with management of infectious waste to meet state EPA regulations and assure a safe and a high quality work environment.
Technology. Mark manages facilities functions to introduce improvements and enhancements that benefit health, safety and are economically sustainable.
Staff Leadership. Mark has developed people and management abilities to effectively impact an ever-changing facilities management environment.
Mark joined the staff at Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton nearly 12 years ago. He began his career in Cincinnati, developing commercial facility maintenance experience in high-rise office buildings.
